June 20 Show: Steve King, Candidate for Yavapai County School Superintendent, Talks About Education Leadership


Brian Sussman talks with Steve King, one of the most qualified candidates to run for Yavapai County Superintendent. He is a 30-year educator, having served in Arizona private and public schools, and has founded three Charter Schools. Most recently he was Superintendent of Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District.

Mr King is passionate about our empowering all children to learn, and to instill a love of learning in all students. He also places an emphasis on vocational education to prepare them for adulthood.

About Steve King
Steve’s family first came to Arizona in 1942, and to Yavapai County in 1955 with his grandparents settling in Cottonwood. In 2001, Steve and his young family returned to the Verde Valley and for the past 22 years have lived in Camp Verde. Steve and his wife, Stephanie, also an educator, have raised their two daughters who have also attended Arizona public and charter schools and gone on to U of A and ASU.
